Acclaimed all over the world by the greatest names in gastronomy for their delicacy and freshness, Griottines are delicious wild morello cherries, pitted and soaked in a liqueur of which the unique recipe is jealously kept. Griottines can be eaten at any time of the day: as an aperitif or in a cocktail, and can be eaten plain or cooked.
A few suggestions:
- Pink cocktail
In a champagne flute, pour one volume of Griottines liqueur, add a Griottine and complete with champagne. Serve chilled.
- Duck breast
Brown the duck breasts in a very hot frying pan. Keep them warm and throw away the fat. In the same frying pan, pour the Griottines liqueur and let it reduce by a half. Fan the breasts out on the plate in the sauce and decorate with Griottines.
- Melon
Cut the melon in half, remove the pips, fill up with Griottines and liqueur, and serve very chilled.
For 35cl, that is 400g: morello cherry: 220g, alcohol (40% alcohol) 13cl, including 10% of Kirsch. Alcohol abuse can seriously damage your health. Drink with moderation.
