Legend has it that the Sablé biscuit was invented in 1670, when the Marquise of Sablé wanted to give a present to the King's brother, and so her chef produced the very first sablé biscuits, named in honour of the Marquise.
These classic shortbread sablés are made with real butter and lots of chocolate chips.
wheat flour, sugar, fresh butter 18.9%, chocolate chips 10.6% (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soy lecithin), skimmed milk powder, eggs, salt, baking powder: sodium bicarbonate . Made in a workshop that also uses sesame, soy, nuts and other grains that contain gluten.
