Le Château Montus is located in the heart of a vast land in the South West of France and the floor is made of large stones on fine clays from the Pyrenees. It's from 1985 that Montus stands out among the great mythical red wines. A place he did not leave for 30 years, he is also nicknamed the "South West Pétrus " by some critics. P>
Grapes: Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon. Vignes 30 years of age. P>
Earth : The land where the vineyards are made of pebbles. Exposed South / South-West are draining and warm which promotes good maturity. The basement are themselves composed of brown and orange layered clays. Yields are low (5-6 bunches per vine), but very good. P>
Winemaking and aging: The maceration lasts from 3 to 6 weeks, the fermentation is done at a temperature of 28 ° C, then comes the pegging, malolactic fermentation in wooden vats. Lees Ageing during 12 to 14 months in new barrels at 60-80%. P>
Tasting Notes: It is a deep and sweet wine, discreetly emits coulis of red fruit aromas. Power is well controlled for a persistent and elegant final grade. P>
