La Favorite rum Cuvée Privilège Pour Lulu 45%
This old rum from Martinique is a blend of 5 rums from 2000 - 2001 - 2002 - 2009 - 2010.
La Favorite, created in 1842, is one of the last independent family distilleries of Martinique. In 1905, Henri Dormoy bought the Habitation, which he modernised thanks to the steam engine, still working today.
For 4 generations now, La Favorite has combined know-how, authenticity and respect for the environment to produce nearly 500,000 litres of agricultural rum every year. The 60 hectares of plantations are harvested by hand, according to Martiniquaise tradition.
An emblematic distillery of Martinique, La Favorite has belonged to the Dormoy family since 1905. It is one of the last independent distilleries on the island.
Among the Dormoy family, rum is a family story. The cuvée "Privilège pour Lulu" has been elaborated to pay tribute to Lucienne Dormoy, the mother of the current owner: Franck Dormoy.
This rum is the result of a blend of 5 vintages: 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2008. It is a limited edition of 4500 bottles.
On the nose, notes of ripe bananas blend with white flowers. The mouth confirms the aromas of the nose. Greedy and unctuous, it evolves on aromas of honey and sweet spices. The finish is long and persistent.
A light woodiness punctuates this cuvée and gives it a nice balance.
