Oregan owes its name to the ancient Greek words oros (mountain) and ganos (happiness). It means literally "happiness of the mountain". It also sometimes called wild marjoram. Its leaves and flowers are harvested and dried to make this spice. Its taste is slightly bitter than marjoram with thyme notes.
Tasting : oregan is perfect on pizzas or to flavor a tomatoe sauce. You can also try it on a mozarella and tomato salad.
