The word 'tandoori' comes from the Indian word 'tandoor': a large traditional Indian clay oven in which meat is cooked on a spit.
Tandoori spices are mixed with yoghurt, then used as a marinade for chicken and fish. And for those of you who don't happen to have your own tandoor at home... don't worry, your normal oven will do the job!
This tandoori spice mix is perfect with any kind of poultry, and can be used as a base for any other meat marinades.
This mix makes an interesting alternative to white or black pepper, and is particularly good for seasoning grilled meats and vinaigrettes.
