Who is BienManger aimed at?

BienManger is the on-line delicatessen for everyone who loves good food and enjoys discovering new flavours and gastronomic experiences. Whether you are a professional cook, a convert to molecular gastronomy, a connoisseur of classic French food, passionate about local specialities, on the search for rare ingredients, concerned about eating more organic and fair trade products, or looking for the perfect foodie present, you’re bound to find something to tempt you at BienManger.com.

How does BienManger select the products available on the website?

Each and every one of the products that you see at BienManger.com has been selected according to rigorous quality control. We pay particular attention to the ingredients used and the way that the product is made. We try to avoid any products that use any artificial colouring, flavouring or additives, and look instead for traditional recipes and methods of production. The provenance of the products we stock is as important as their flavours. We actively look for suppliers and producers who operate according to Fair Trade principles, and with whom we can build sustainable, long-lasting relationships.

Almost every product on the website has been tested and tasted by our selfless tasting committee. The aim of this committee is to give a balanced view of any new product and to take into account individual tastes and preferences. We also invite guests to our tastings, in order to gain their opinions and share the pleasure of discovering good food.

How does BienManger find so many fabulous products?

We are constantly on the look-out for new products and this part of our work extends into our weekends, our holidays and our travels. You never know when you might come across something really delicious, exciting and new and when inspiration might strike!

We pay close attention to food and drink publications and magazines, as well as everything that we can find about food on the internet, the radio and the television.

Sometimes our customers and clients send us recommendations and ideas for new products, and we are often contacted by producers who are keen to see their range on sale at BienManger.com. Whilst we cannot say yes to everybody, we nevertheless take the time to look at every suggestion and to reply to every offer. Where we believe a product to be of real interest, we are always delighted to include it in a future tasting session.

Where do our products come from?

The majority of the products at BienManger.com are locally produced, regional specialities from France. That said, we have an impressive selection of artisan-produced Italian products, as well as a smaller range from other countries. We demand the same level of quality wherever the product originates from, and as a rule of thumb, we look for small scale artisan producers and regional recipes.

Where does BienManger deliver to?

We deliver to anywhere in France, including to Corsica and the DOM-TOMs. We also deliver to all European countries, as well as the vast majority of international destinations. Please note however that we are currently unable to deliver to the United States, due to the FDA regulations concerning the import of food and drink products. You can choose to have your order delivered by first class post, or, if you are in more of a hurry, by express delivery.

Where does BienManger keep its stock?

The vast majority of our stock is kept in our warehouse. When you call us to ask about a particular product, we can reply quickly because, quite simply, we’re sitting only metres away from it. That said, there are some products that we do not keep in stock and which will be sent out to you directly from their producer. Examples include some of the rare Armagnacs and Maury wines, smoked salmon, snail caviar and the famous ‘cake cooked on a spit’.

Where is BienManger based?

BienManger has always been based in the Lozere region of France. La Canourgue is a village with a population of 1500, situated almost exactly halfway between Clermont Ferrand and Montpellier. We think ourselves extremely lucky to be able to work in such beautiful surroundings, but we also benefit from reliable internet connection and excellent access to a major motorway, both of which ensure that the day to day business of BienManger runs smoothly.

We have never regretted our decision to base ourselves in the Lozere ; we believe that it’s important to stay close to your roots and we certainly think that the quality of life here is second to none. In 2009, we have undertaken a project to double the size of our warehouse, proof of our dedication and loyalty to La Canourgue.

Are there any BienManger shops?

We only sell via our internet site and do not have any shops.

Can BienManger send me a catalogue?

We don’t have any paper catalogue for the very simple reason that we have too many products in stock and we are always adding new ones to our selection. Given that some months we add up to 200 new products to the website, it would be extremely complicated to maintain an up-to-date paper catalogue. The best way to explore our range is to have a look at the website, but if you have any specific question, we will be delighted to answer you by email or by telephone.

Can I pay for my order when I receive it?

No. We only accept payment at the point of order, and your parcel will be sent out as soon as payment is received. You can pay by bank card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Cofinoga), e.carte bleue, Paypal or, if you have a bank account in France, by cheque.
