Griottines® - Cherries in Liqueur

This unique recipe of wild Morello cherries in liqueur and Kirsch is recognized worldwide for its flavor. Ideal as an accompaniment to vanilla ice cream.
Acclaimed all over the world by the greatest names in cuisine for their delicacy and freshness, Griottines are delicious wild morello cherries, pitted and soaked in liqueur, the unique recipe of which is a closely-guarded secret. Griottines can be eaten at any time of the day: as an aperitif or in a cocktail, and can be eaten straight from the jar or in a recipe.
A few serving suggestions:
- Pink cocktail
In a champagne flute, pour one volume of Griottines liqueur, add a Griottine cherry and top up with champagne. Serve chilled.
- Duck breast
Brown the duck breasts in a very hot frying pan. Keep them warm and tip away the fat. Pour the Griottines liqueur into the same frying pan and let it reduce by half. Fan the breasts out on the plate in the sauce and decorate with Griottine cherries.
- Melon
Cut the melon in half, remove the pips, fill up with Griottines and liqueur, and serve very chilled.
Composition
For 35cl, that is 400g: morello cherry: 220g, alcohol (40% alcohol) 13cl, including 10% of Kirsch. Alcohol abuse can seriously damage your health. Drink with moderation.
