"Chokothé" Candied Gingers in Tea-Scented Chocolate
Delicious mild candied gingers coated with tea-scented chocolate
Created during the reign of Louis XIII by the "officier de bouche" or personal chef of the marshal Duke of Praslin, his signature roasted and caramelised almond "praslines" were extremely popular at the French court.
The "officier de bouche" then moved to Montargis using the title "Confiserie du Roi" ("King's Confectioner") which was later changed to "Mazet Confiseur" ('Mazet Confectioner') in 1903. Today, Mazet continue to create a wide range of delicious sweet specialities.
These exquisite candied gingers, coated with tea-scented chocolate, are made according to the purest Mazet tradition.
