Pastille du Mineur (Miner's Pastille)
Their strong and fresh herbal taste will intoxicate your palate with pleasure!
This lozenge originates from India, where plant extracts were used to clear the respiratory tract.
In 1957, Georges Verquin had the idea of making a candy from it for the coal miners of the North, to give them a feeling of freshness and well-being when they were at the bottom of the galleries. What's more, these sweets were reputed to compensate for the urge to smoke, which was forbidden in the galleries, to avoid any risk of firedamp.
The miner's lozenge perpetuates this tradition. The shape and colour of this black, ovoid candy is reminiscent of the balls of coal that miners used to extract in the course of their days.
With natural plant extracts (eucalyptus, mint, star anise), they will help you to clear your respiratory tracts in case of a cold, and the rest of the time, to be invaded by a beautiful sensation of freshness!
Glucose syrup, sugar, plant extracts, natural Eucalyptus and other natural flavours, colourings: medicinal vegetable charcoal, coating agent: carnauba wax. May contain traces of milk and nuts.
