The Léonard Parli confectionery is one of the oldest in Aix-en-Provence. Founded in 1874, it is famous for its calissons - little diamond-shaped sweets made from ground almonds and candied fruits. In the XVIIth century calissons were said to prevent plague, but we think this is just an excuse - but now that Southern France is happily plague-free, we suggest you celebrate with a calisson or two!
Tips: Perfect with coffee or tea as an alternative to the ubiquitous mint! Yet, you can also enjoy this colorful calissons all day long.
