French Calissons d'Aix
Léonard Parli
In stock
Delicious specialty of Aix-en-Provence based almond prepared by Leonard Parli home.
The Léonard Parli confectionery is one of the oldest in Aix-en-Provence. Founded in 1874, it is famous for its calissons - little diamond-shaped sweets made from ground almonds and candied fruits. In the 17th century calissons were said to prevent plague, but we think this is just an excuse - but now that Southern France is happily plague-free, we suggest you celebrate with a calisson or two!
Serving suggestion: Extremely chic served with coffee as an alternative to the ubiquitous mint!
Composition
Candied melons 44%, glucose-fructose syrup, oranges, almonds 42%, glucose syrup, sugar, water, egg white, matzoh (potato starch and sunflower oil)
Producer
Origin : Provence
