A brown Belgian beer with 500 years of history

Corsendonck Pater is a brown beer with a surprising sweetness due to its high alcohol content (7.5%). This is a top fermented, unpasteurised beer, produced according to the traditional recipes of the Corsendonk abbey. Its elegant bottle is instantly recognisable from its lack of a label, and is decorated instead by a religiously-inspired silkscreen print.

History: The Corsendonk brewery was founded in the XVth century by Augustinian monks on an estate inherited from Maria de Corsendonk, daughter of the Duke of Brabant. The abbey's closure was ordered in 1784 by the Emperor Joseph II. The brewing tradition was kept alive during the XXth century by Antonius and Joseph Keersmaekers, and today, this beer is produced at the Van Steenberge brewery.

Water, malt, hops, yeast. Alcohol: 7.5% vol.
