Cardamon as ginger is of the Zingiberaceae family. It is known and used for centuries in India and China. there are three different kinfs of cardamom : the black, the white and the greeen one. This lattest one is smaller but more aromatic than the other two. Cardamom has a fresh, mild and slightly peppery taste. In South East Asia, it is sometimes called grains of paradise.
Tasting : cardamom is great on cooked meats and pastries. It is also used to prepare some spice mixes such as curries or massale. A simple and nice way to taste it, is to add some cardamom grains to a tea or a coffee...
