A vineyard of character

The cognac Héritage René Rivière comes from the one of the cosiest area of the Charentes : Les Borderies. The cosiest and the most discreet : by its size, the Borderies domain is the smallest soil between those who have right to the Cognac appellation.

Each plot has its own particularities, and this is one of the reason why our spirits are of such quality. They give to our cognac its peculiar character. For instance, the clayey soil of the Barauderies gives flexible and liquorous wines, the calcareous ground of Maine-Pichet gives more acid wines, and the half clayey, half calcareous ground of the Prévoteaux underlines the taste of grape.

The old vine - plants, called "folle blanche", "uni blanc" and "colombard" are the basis for the wine we use to make our cognacs.

A traditional know-how

For three generations now, in the property of Chez Landais, our cognacs are prepared and conserved according to traditional methods (manual vintage, wooden distillation with our stills).

The know-how has been scrupulously passed on, and the care with which each step is taken have allowed us to obtain those exceptional cognacs.

Unforgettable flavours

All those cognacs benefit from a great quality, they are preserved intact in there original barrels and are put in there bottles only when sent.
Having a long family history, they still offer :
- a complex mixture of fruit and flower flavours,
- a round and elongated aroma,
- a wooden taste, due to the great association of oak and alcohol.
