A fabulous invention - delicious biscuits in a spread!

Speculoos are a speciality of Northern France and Belgium, and Lotus Bakeries produce the very best. Delicious, golden biscuits, with a sweet, caramelised, warmly spiced flavour, speculoos are traditionally eaten to accompany a cup of coffee, and can also be used to create delicious puddings.

Now Lotus have had the frankly brilliant idea to create a Speculoos spread, to spread on bread, toast, pancakes, or just by the spoonful... Rich and creamy, and with the exact flavour of the original biscuit. A must!

Composition : Speculoos 57% (wheat flour, sugar, vegetables oil and fat, soy flour, candi sugar syrup, baking powder (carbonate acid sodium), salt, cinnamon), rape oil, sugar, emulsifier (soy lecithin), food acid (citric acid). Contain : wheat, soy.

A spreadable biscuit - excellent. It tastes just like the biscuits because that is what it is made from. A quick look at the ingredients shows that it is made from ground up biscuit (57%) and a few other items to make it spread.

I bought a jar in France earlier this year and having now finished it I regret I did not by several more, I suspect I'll not find it in the UK, so it is on my shopping list for my next trip across the Channel .
