The Japonica type of Arborio rice is grown in Europe. It is extremely fine, with a very high capacity for absorbing liquid, whilst retaining its form and texture. This makes it the perfect rice for making risotto or paella.
La Riserva company in Italy specialises in Japonica rice, and has done for several generations, producing rice of exceptionally high quality which is selected, cultivated and harvested with great care by this family business.
