The Bodegas Chivite has belonged to the Chivite family since 1647 . The Gran Feudo Reserva was produced using Tempranillo grapes (80%) as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which give the wine its structure, and allow it to age well. The wine is made using traditional vinification methods and a long maceration. Aged for 18 months in French and American oak casks, some of which are new, the wine is then aged for a further 18 months in the bottle before being sold.
The wine has a rich, intense ruby colour. Its aromas of ripe fruit is lengthened with notes of spice and oak. Complex in the mouth, this is a tannic wine with a good balance of fruit and a very agreeable finish. It will age well, and is the ideal partner for beef and game dishes.
