Hungary is a country with much inestimable wealth. Among others, an exceptional wine, well-known all over the world, the Tokaj (the letter “i” is attached to the name to specify that the wine is from the Tokaj region). This wine is from a vineyard of Tokaj, in the North-Eastern part of Hungary. Located on South-facing, South-East-facing and South-West-facing hills, the vineyards get a lot of sunshine. Aged in oak barrels for 24 months, the Tokaj is then stored for 12 months before being bottled.

The Tokaj 2000 is an exceptional vintage. It is recommended that it is drunk after 10 years and its storage time is about 20 years. We present to you here the Tokaj Aszu 5 Puttonyos. It means it contains between 120 and 150 g/L of residual sugar, it makes it one of the best Tokaj wines – if it is not the best!

As for the taste, you will appreciate its fruity smell (apricot, fig, lemon) and its length of time in the mouth, complex and well-balanced, presenting also fruity overtones (apricot, quince, fig, honey, beeswax). It is recommended that this sweet wine is served with sweet or savoury dishes, fried foie gras, cheese (blue cheese, Roquefort), fruit desserts.
