An exceptional rice!

The wild rice from Canada is a pure pleasure for the eyes. Its very long dark brown grains make it a beautiful and exceptional rice. This grain, which is produced in the Canadian great lakes region is wrongly called “rice”. It would correspond more to oats.

The wild rice from Canada can be cooked in the same way as other kinds of rice, but needs to be cooked for slightly longer (about 45 minutes). Once cooked, try mixing it with beans, corn, squash, with meat and maple syrup. As a dessert, try rice pudding with wild rice and add maple syrup, raisins and dates. This wild rice is extremely versatile, and can be served with almost everything: in salads, as a side-dish for meat, fish or vegetables, in soups…
