Criollo cocoa

Very rare and precious, fragile and delicate, this cocoa needs much care, perfect climatic conditions and appropriate soil. Originally from South America, and especially from Venezuela, there are also small plantations in Java and Madagascar. Very aromatic cocoa with lots of subtleties. It represents only 5% of the worldwide production. White or pinkish round cocoa seeds, with a fast fermentation.

Ocumare plantation

On this plantation, located near the Venezuelan Coast grows a very rare subspecies of Criollo: the Ocumare 61. This wonderful cocoa develops a flavour of great subtlety.
