Strong oil with a taste of cabbage, it used for potato salad, dishes with beetroot, shallot, broccoli, cabbage, or to make the famous ‘cervelle de canut’ (Speciality of Lyon in France: a mix of whisked fromage frais, minced chives, salt and pepper). Its strong taste goes very well with all cooked or raw vegetables. On warm or cold salads, mix it together with lemon juice.

Health interests

The rapeseed oil is remarkable for its healthy qualities. This oil has a balance of fatty acids ideal for our bodily needs. It is particularly interesting by its content in alpha-linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid for our health because our organism can not synthesize it. The rapeseed oil is also source of vitamin E, it contains antioxidant and rejuvenating qualities because it neutralizes free radicals. Its other function is that it helps to stabilize the cellular membranes.

The oil mill from Beaujolais

The oil mill from Beaujolais is born from a fortuitous discovery in 1981 of a traditional oil manufacture workshop of the 19th century. A few years are enough to drive Mireille and Jean-Marc on a real passion and make them world-famous throwsters, and this, thanks to their high quality products is used by many star Chefs (Troisgros, Ducasse, Blanc, the Pourcel brothers, Gagnaire…) A nut, or a fruit, an oil, that is the credo of the oil mill. So, not blended, only first pressing virgin oil, for a preserved taste.
