Bourbon vanilla from the Reunion Islands is considered to be amongst the most perfumed.

Did you know? Vanilla is part of the orchid family and there exists 30 varieties. For 40 years, Bourbon vanilla has been recognised as being of the highest quality. These pods come from Madagascar, one of the most prolific producers of vanilla.

Serving suggestion: Split the pod lengthways and remove the grains with the point of a knife. Leave the grains to infuse for 15 minutes in some warm milk. Use half a pod to a liter of milk. You can also add the pod to the infusion. Dried, the pods can be added to a jar of sugar or a bottle of rum to add a delicious vanilla flavour.

How to store: a few drops of rum in the bottom of the tube will allow you to keep these vanilla pods fresh for years.
