Did you know ? The tarte tatin was created by Caroline and Stephanie Tatin, two sisters from the South of France, in their restaurant. One day, one of them prepared a traditional apple pie, but forgot the pastry. Realizing her mistake, she placed the pastry on top of the apples when half-cooked, before turning over the whole thing and obtaining the now worldwide famous tarte tatin!
